Four schools took part in this event; Oshwal Academy Nairobi Senior High, Aghakhan Academy Nairobi, St. Austin School Nairobi and Brook House School Nairobi. Each school enrolled three students for the competition.

The primary purpose of this challenge was to allow students an opportunity to demonstrate their entrepreneurial thinking, creative and team working skills by growing an initial donation to something substantial for their chosen charity. Each team received an initial donation of £50 from Uclan. The participating teams were given two months January and February 2019 to invest the initial amount and ‘grow’ it.

All schools made a presentation (between 15 and 20 minutes) outlining how they went about their fund-raising efforts. An account of how teams ‘grew’ their £50 was included.

The judges were:

  1. Mr Mohamed Parker Principal Lecturer and Head of International Programmes at Lancashire School of Business & Enterprise, Uclan
  2. Asha Kamenge – Head of Special Projects at Stanbic Bank
